One of the most interesting side trips we took from Hoi An was a half day bike ride around nearby villages and side streets you don’t normally see on a tour and where few vehicles can get to anyway.
The locals were very friendly and since it was New Year’s Day, all the young children had learned to call out “Happy New Year” as we sailed past.
It might not look like it but we all said later that this bike ride was the highlight of our tour.
At $1 a day for the bike hire it was not an expensive exercise either, but it was most definitely exercise.
Scroll to the end for a video of our bike ride.

A delightful and peaceful bike ride around nearby villages while in Hoi An. We really enjoyed it.
